Warner Bros. Pictures is reportedly in the “final stages of talks” with Jai Courtney, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto to star in David Ayer’s DC Comics super-villain ensemble film “Suicide Squad” according to Heat Vision.
All of the names have been rumored for months, but now it seems like things are firming up with the trade also saying filming will take place at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Pre-production gets underway there in February ahead of filming which will run from mid-April to September next year.
Two names that have also been rumored for roles – Will Smith and Jesse Eisenberg – were not mentioned in the report and aren’t confirmed at this time. Smith was being rumored for Captain Boomerang, whilst Eisenberg was said to be reprising his role of Lex Luthor from Zack Snyder’s “Batma v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
It’s expected Courtney will play Deadshot, Hardy is Rick Flagg, Robbie is Harley Quinn and Leto is The Joker, but the specific roles are also unconfirmed at this time. “Suicide Squad” is scheduled to hit cinemas on August 5th 2016.
