STX Plans “Bo the Bull,” “Ugly Dolls,” “Dreamcoat”

S’tX Entertainment used their CinemaCon presentation to announce three major animated feature projects they have begun development on.

The first is “Ugly Dolls” which will be the studio’s first animated feature and will be both directed and produced by Robert Rodriguez. Set for release May 10th 2019, the film is based on the children’s toyline of the same name.

The second is an adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic 1960s musical “Joseph And The Amazing Techicolor Dreamcoat”. Webber, Elton John and Tim Rice are spearheading the effort which will boast new songs from both Webber and Rice and will be produced through John’s Rocket Pictures (“Gnomeo and Juliet”).

Last on the list is “Bo the Bull,” a new animated feature which sees the return of Eddie Murphy to an animated role following his work as donkey in the “Shrek” films.
