The University of Leicester have published the results of a seven-year study into which fictional superhero is the best.
The project, conducted by some of the best and brightest students at the school and published in its Journal of Physics Special Topics and Journal of Interdisciplinary Science Topics, broke down the various superheroes to figure out which has the most feasible powers.
The winner? Superman with his higher muscle density tissue and ability to “exert a calculated stored solar energy output of 7.07×105 Joules per second”.
Thor and X-Men’s Wolverine and Mystique were reportedly runners up, but the big loser? It’s Batman because he has no powers. They also indicate Black Bolt is the single most destructive superhero based on a high energy output capable of resulting in planetary annihilation.
More details and a character chart comparing powers can be found on the University’s official site.
