Strouse Has A Winning Season

James Strouse (“Grace is Gone”) will write and direct the indie comedy “The Winning Season” for Gigi Productions and Plum Pictures says the trades.

The film tracks a divorced, down-on-his-luck high school girls basketball coach (Sam Rockwell) who makes a bid for redemption by coaching the team his daughter is on.

Emma Roberts is cast as a player he befriends, and Rob Corddry will play the school’s principal. Shareeka Epps, Emily Rios, Margo Martindale and Jessica Hecht also star.

The film will shoot in October in the New York area.
