Production will be halted for six months on Cinemax’s action drama series “Strike Back” which had been in the midst of filming its ten-episode fourth and final season in Bangkok.
Series star Sullivan Stapleton reportedly suffered a serious injury while exploring the town in his free time. Sullivan’s reps say the actor is resting comfortably and on his way to a full recovery.
His role though is physically demanding, often involving stunt work, which requires perfect physical condition. As a result, filming is shut down for six months so he can recover.
Currently production will continue in Thailand through March as scheduled before the break, with filming to be done around around Stapleton. Production will then resume with him this fall in Hungary.
The Australian actor had shot most of his scenes in order to carve out time for his commitments to the “300: Rise of an Empire” promotional circuit. His injury will likely impact those plans.
The lengthy hiatus is expected to affect the series premiere date which was to be later this year but will likely be pushed into early 2015.
