“Stranger Things” Star Was Sought For “Silver Chair”

The breakout star of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” actress Millie Bobby Brown, has reportedly been extended an offer to play the lead role of Jill Pole in the upcoming adaptation of “The Chronicles of Narnia” book “The Silver Chair”.

That Hashtag Show broke the news, saying TriStar Pictures extended the offer for the new film in April based on the sixth title in CS Lewis’ seven book series. The status of the offer is currently unknown.

Walden Media produced three previous films based on the second, fourth and fifth books in the series from 2005-2010, but this will serve as a reboot of the franchise.

In the book a now elderly Prince Caspian seeks the help of Eustace Scrubb and his boarding school classmate Jill Pole to find his lost son and Narnia’s heir Prince Rillian.

Joe Johnston (“The Rocketeer,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) is slated to direct the film, marking his final time behind the camera.
