Earlier this week came the news that Netflix is officially set to produce a second season of its 1980s throwback meets supernatural spooker series “Stranger Things” which will premiere in 2017. We’ve already seen the episode titles, and received confirmation that the second season will reportedly take place about a year later (in 1984) .
Today, creators The Duffer Brothers have provided some details of three of the four key new characters joining the mix next year with TV Line obtaining information on the characters though casting channels. Here’s the breakdown:
Max: A 12-14-year-old female described as ‘tough and confident’ and whose ‘appearance, behavior and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era’. She also uses her skateboard to get around everywhere.
Billy: Max’s ‘very muscular and hyper-confident’ Camaro-driving older brother. Further specifics are under wraps.
Roman: A thirtysomething who has suffered ‘a great loss at an early age and has been seeking revenge ever since.’ Though the name is male, the role is being cast gender-neutral.
The Duffer Brothers have confirmed the second season will be a continuation of the story from the first and prefer to think of it as a sequel rather than a second season.
