Last month came the announcement from Nielsen that the ratings company was set to measure Netflix viewership – at least when watched on TVs – and today they’ve revealed the numbers for one of the streaming giants most talked about series – “Stranger Things”.
The series returned October 27th for its second installment and Nielsen reports that within the first three days the first episode averaged 15.8 million U.S. viewers and nearly 11 million in the key demo viewing on TV.
Nielsen also says all nine new episodes averaged 4 million viewers and 3 million in the demo. Additionally, 361,000 people watched all nine episodes on the first day.
Nielsen is not tracking Netflix on mobile devices so the actual audience is expected to be even larger.
