Empire Magazine was the only print publication that got to visit the set of “X-Men: First Class” and have done a massive cover story of the project which is scheduled to hit in the upcoming issue that goes on sale this week.
Along with the three alternate covers which are included below, they’ve also teased some key quotes from producer Lauren Shuler Donner who reveals the plans for the franchise that stretch beyond this prequel.
In fact, a treatment has already been done to continue the events that take place beyond “X-Men: The Last Stand”. Donner says “We took the treatment to Fox and they love it… And X4 leads into X5.”
She also briefly discussed the “Deadpool” spin-off which she describes as a “total reboot. We’re either going to pretend that didn’t happen, or mock it, which he could do… it’s an R script, it’s really irreverent and violent. Right away, we’re out of the X-Men world.”
She also says that despite his hectic schedule, actor Ryan Reynolds remains very much a part of the project – “He’s very involved, Ryan. He’s working with the writers on the screenplay and it is as much as it is ours. I’m tellin’ ya, it’s true to the comic. You’ll see all of them. You’ll see Wade Wilson, the good-looking Ryan Reynolds! You’ll see Deadpool in his costume and you’ll see the cancer-scarred face.”
