Release dates have been locked down for Steven Spielberg’s next two directorial efforts.
DreamWorks Pictures has announced an October 16th 2015 release for his untitled Cold War thriller starring Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance. Spielberg is now confirmed to be directing the project about an American lawyer recruited by the CIA to negotiate the release of a U.S. spy plane pilot from Russia in 1960.
DreamWorks has also announced a July 1st 2016 release date for Spielberg’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s novel “The BFG”. The story centers on a young orphan girl and her friendship with a loveable, dream-hunting giant.
Spielberg hasn’t directed a movie since 2012’s “Lincoln,” though has been attached to several film including “American Sniper,” “The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara” and “Montezuma”.
