Steven Seagal has joined the cast of the $25 million-budget action thriller “Cypher” at Aldamisa International.
Seagal penned the script and will portray a special forces operative who, frustrated with the bureaucracy of war, goes rogue and tries to exterminate terrorists being protected by the government.
No director is yet attached. Sergei Bespalev and Seagal are producing with filming to begin in April.
The plan is to go theatrical with the film which, aside from his appearances in the “Machete” films, would mark the first Seagal project to do so since 2002’s “Half Past Dead”.
