Rising star Sterling K. Brown (“The Predator,” “Hotel Artemis”) has joined the cast of the espionage thriller “The Rhythm Section,” the Blake Lively-led thriller which was shut down mid-way through production back in January.
Reed Morano helms this contemporary adaptation of the first of Mark Burnell’s “Stephanie Patrick” novels. Lively plays a woman who assumes three different identities as she seeks to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that killed her family – a flight that she was meant to be on.
Lively sustained a critical hand injury in December while shooting a stunt and underwent a surgery that did not go as planned, requiring a second surgery and more recovery time. Sources say she has made a full recovery, and production on the film is set to resume next month in Spain.
Specifics of Brown’s role are under wraps. The film is being produced by James Bond film series producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and is sticking to its planned February 22nd 2019 release.
