“Boston Legal” creator and “Big Little Lies” writer David E. Kelley along with “Lost” director Jack Bender are teaming for another TV series adaptation of a Stephen King work following their collaboration on “Mr. Mercedes”.
Spyglass will be producing the new series based on King’s novel “The Institute” which releases this week. The story follows Luke Ellis whose parents are murdered in the middle of the night by intruders. Luke wakes up at The Institute in a room that looks just like his own, except there’s no window.
Outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents, such as telekinesis and telepathy, who got there the same way Luke did. Kelley will write and executive produce the series with Bender directing and executive producing.
