Stephen Dorff has scored a co-leading role opposite Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo in the upcoming third season of “True Detective” on HBO.
The story revolves around a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.
Dorff will play an Arkansas State Investigator Roland West, the partner of Ali’s Wayne Hays who is a Northwest Arkansas state police detective. Ejogo will play Amelia Reardon, a school teacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980.
Jeremy Saulnier (“Green Room,” “Blue Ruin”) will co-direct alongside series creator Nic Pizzolatto with the latter penning all the episodes except for the fourth episode which he’s co-writing with “Deadwood” creator David Milch.
