Stephen Daldry Up For “Breaking Dawn”?

Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry (“The Hours,” “The Reader,” “Billy Elliott”) has apparently join the list of potential directors on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” for Summit Entertainment says The Los Angeles Times.

At present there’s no indication Daldry will end up with the job, but it adds to the growing list of Oscar nominees the studio has apparently made offers to. Last week a report emerged indicating Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola and Bill Condon were also on the list of helming candidates.

Formal offers will be made once scribe Melissa Rosenberg’s outline is turned in. It’s expected the decision to split the film into two parts will be formally made at the same time.

Shooting on ‘Dawn’ will kick off in the Fall.
