Starz Orders Ron Moore’s “Outlander”

Starz has officially given an sixteen episode first season order for “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” producer Ronald D. Moore’s new “Outlander” series.

Based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling series of books, the story followsa married WW2 nurse who mysteriously falls back in time to 1743. Seven books have been released in the series so far and have sold more than twenty million copies.

The order follows several months after Syfy picked up Moore’s new outbreak drama “Helix” to series.
