The last of the three major premium cable channels, Starz, has finally launched a standalone subscription streaming app in the vein of competitors HBO Now and Showtime. Costing $8.99 a month, the app is now available on Apple app store and through Google’s play store.
The app allows up to four users to watch simultaneously and offers virtually unlimited downloads, a first for a premium cable channel app. Existing Starz subscribers can authenticate and view Starz programming through the app as well.
The service gives users access to more than 2,400 selections a month, including new films along with Starz original series like “Outlander,” “Black Sails,” “Ash vs Evil Dead,” “Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Power,” “Blunt Talk,” “Survivor’s Remorse,” “Spartacus,” “Magic City,” “Boss,” “Party Down” and upcoming shows like “American Gods” and “The Girlfriend Experience”.
