Starz, Hannibal’s Fuller Team For Gaiman’s “Gods”

Starz, “Hannibal” show runner Bryan Fuller and “Heroes” producer Michael Green are teaming for FremantleMedia North America’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s 2001 award-winning urban fantasy novel “American Gods”.

The drama deals with on a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots, to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.

Starz has given the project a script-to-series commitment, with Fuller and Green attached to serve as show runners and executive produce alongside Gaiman. The project previously was in development at HBO, who ultimately passed on it.

‘Gods’ will now join Starz’ increasing line-up of big-budget drama and genre projects like “Black Sails,” “Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Power,” and upcoming shows like “Outlander,” “Flesh and Bone” and “The Missing”.

Speaking of Gaiman, his long awaited video game “Wayward Manor” is finally set to go online on July 15th. The game will be available on Steam for PC and Mac.
