“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” may be in cinemas now, but that hasn’t stopped Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy continuing her efforts to promote the film.
Speaking with Lizo Mzimba yesterday, she was asked about the immediate next two films in the franchise – Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: Episode VIII” and the untitled Han Solo movie.
Kennedy confirms that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller start shooting the Han Solo film in February. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke in an unknown role.
As for ‘Episode VIII’, she won’t reveal the title but does give an indication as to when we might see the first trailer – “Probably heading into spring you’ll start to see things”. Speculation is already high that the first trailer will either hit with Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” on March 17th, or at Star Wars Celebration which takes place in Orlando four weeks later.
