This morning, ABC’s “Good Morning America” tweeted out a tease that tomorrow’s edition of the show will celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Star Wars” with a big announcement.
Both Luke Skywalker and Daisy Ridley will be by the studio for what they dub “the Star Wars announcement 40 years in the making”. What this will be is unclear, most likely something to do with the franchise overall rather than the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opening later this year.
GMA previously premiered the “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” trailer. However, with the Star Wars Celebration expo in Orlando this coming Easter Weekend, it’s expected the first trailer for ‘Last Jedi’ will premiere at the expo during the film’s panel on Good Friday ahead of an online premiere over the holiday or next week.
Also today, more rumors about the film have popped online at Making Star Wars today including that Laura Dern will be playing a pink-haired regal-looking character named Admiral Holdo who is aligned with the Resistance but a political opponent of Leia’s and a thorn in the side of fleet leader Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens in December.
