Star Wars, Hunger Games Theme Parks Coming

The heads of Disney and Lionsgate have been out trumpeting their quarterly earnings and future plans over the past 24 hours, and topic that came up amongst both companies is that of theme park attractions.

Disney CEO Bob Iger tells that there are plans to bring more Star Wars-themed attractions to not just their domestic parks, but to international ones as well:

“There is a fair amount of development going on at Disney Imagineering right now to expand the Star Wars presence in California and in Orlando and eventually in other parks around the world.

We do have Star Wars in other theme parks, France, Paris and in Tokyo, and we haven’t made any specific announcements of what will be in Shanghai or what will be added in Hong Kong after we build an Iron Man attraction, but I think it’s likely that Star Wars will be in more than just our two domestic parks.”
