Star Wars Day Brings Several Announcements

It’s Star Wars Day, May the 4th, and to celebrate there’s been all sorts of announcements related to the “Star Wars” franchise by Disney, Lucasfilm and various other outlets.

First up, a company called OffTrack Outlet has created and artfully distressed a slip cover VHS tape of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for all the nostalgia buffs out there.

Then there’s the new trailer for the “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” game which includes voice acting from Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and even Harrison Ford with the latter getting three quotes in the trailer alone including the phrase ‘wookie cookies’.

Next up, Lucasfilm has officially announced that Star Wars Celebration 2017 will take place in Orlando, Florida from April 13-16th at the Orange County Convention Center. Tickets for the event, including 4-day, single-day, and VIP, will go on sale Wednesday, May 25th at 12pm US-PT.

The latest “Force for Change” video is also out featuring Daisy Ridley seemingly presenting from a Resistance Base along with some other aliens.

Finally, “Hamilton” creator and star Lin Manuel Miranda invited J.J. Abrams to help him perform the new Cantina Song from ‘Force Awakens’ which the pair worked on during production. Sung in Huttese, Miranda jokes it’s a “Shaggy intergalactic remix”. The song became available today on iTunes.
