EA Games is currently on the receiving end of a bunch of criticism this week which began with their cancellation of a single-player linear narrative AAA “Star Wars” game from the creator of the “Uncharted” franchise.
Things only got worse when they issued a press release about it which effectively stated that they’re giving up on single-player games altogether. Instead, they are putting their focus on multiplayer and more importantly ‘games as a service’ because of their ability to milk revenue out of them via loot boxes, DLC and microtransactions.
Thus it comes as somewhat dark irony today the company has released an impressive trailer for the single player campaign of the upcoming “Star Wars Battlefront II” – a campaign created in the wake of the many complaints about the lack of a single player element in the first game.
Luke, Leia, Maz Kanata and more feature in the impressive clip which is set immediately in the aftermath of “Return of the Jedi” and deals with the thirty year gap between the fall of the Galactic Empire and the rise of the First Order.
“Star Wars Battlefront II” will be available worldwide on November 17th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Origin for PC.
