Details are now out regarding another one of the twenty books being published by Disney and LucasFilm that will fill in the 32 year gap between “Return of the Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
“Star Wars: Aftermath” hits September 4th and has been penned by Mockingbird” and “Under the Empyrean Sky” author Chuck Wendig. It is one of the most important of the new batch as it deals directly with post-Jedi events and what unfolds within it is considered official canon. Here’s the just released official synopsis and artwork:
“In Star Wars: Aftermath, the second Death Star has just been destroyed. Rumors are flying that the Emperor and his enforcer, Darth Vader, are dead. A new government is forming to replace the Empire. But the galaxy is a big place, and the fallout of this cataclysm will affect different worlds in different ways. Does everyone accept the fall of Imperial rule? Has everyone even heard the life-altering news? What rushes in to fill the vacuum the Empire has left? And who will try to stop them?”
