“Star Trek” writers/producers Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman are taking J.J. Abrams version of the famed sci-fi saga to the video game world reports Heat Vision.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game will be “an extension of the adventure begun by Abrams in the 2009 film” with Kirk and Spock working together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.
“Bioshock 2” developers Digital Extremes are teaming with Bad Robot, Paper Products and Paramount Digital Entertainment on the effort which will hit shelves next year – probably close to the release of the film.
Meanwhile the “Tomb Raider” game franchise is getting a reboot with a new game due out later this year that makes some major changes to Lara Croft’s back story. It’s expected any further film adaptations of the series would likely follow this new continuity.
