Oscar winning “TRON: Legacy” and “Life of Pi” cinematographer Claudio Miranda has come onboard to lens the third “Star Trek” film reports TrekMovie.
The site indicates that the majority of the film will be shot in Vancouver, Canada while some of it will be filmed in Seoul, South Korea. Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon has confirmed on his personal Facebook page that he had met with “Star Trek 3” producer Jeffrey Chernov and filming will take place in Seoul in the first half of next year.
This will also mark the first time a “Star Trek” movie has been shot digitally. Daniel Mindel served as cinematographer on the previous films.
