Stand, “Bone,” “Piercer” Score New Scribes

“The Invasion” and “Blood Creek” scribe David Kajganich has been hired to work on the script for the proposed Ben Affleck-directed film adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Kajganich also worked on an as-of-yet unproduced feature adaptation of King’s “It”. [Source: Vulture]

Patrick Sean Smith, creator of ABC Family’s “Greek”, has been hired to pen the adaptation of Jeff Smith’s independent comic book “Bone” for Warner Bros. Pictures.

P.J. Hogan (“Muriel’s Wedding,” “My Best Friend’s Wedding”) is now attached to direct the fantasy story of three cousins from the Bone family who find themselves in a mysterious valley where they are separated and hunted by other creatures ruled by an evil force called the Lord of the Locusts. Snow Piercer
“Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead” scribe Kelly Masterson is set to do a rewrite of Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook’s script for the indie drama “Snow Piercer” which Bong is helming.

Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton and Jamie Bell star in the story set in a world covered in snow and ice, the story follows a train full of travelers who struggle to co-exist. [Source: Heat Vision]
