Sylvester Stallone has teased a fourth film in “The Expendables” series being in the works.
Possibilities of it happening began back in 2017, but both “Creed 2” and “Rambo 5” took precedence for Stallone as he tried to figure out where the ‘Expendables’ franchise might go next. With the new “Rambo” nearly completed, he’s mulling where to go next.
Posting over the July 4th holiday, Stallone said: “All of those July 4th Fireworks got my mind going! I am starting to cook up the next adventure” and in the process posted a picture of himself as his Expendables character Barney Ross.
Which fellow actors will return is unclear. Stallone is working on the script and Arnold Schwarzenegger has previously expressed interest in returning if Stallone is satisfied with the script. Dolph Lundgren could well be back as he worked with Stallone again on “Creed 2”.
The film will also have to overcome the problem of the last movie which not only cut its rating down to PG-13 from the R of the two previous films, upsetting fans in the process, it was also the subject of a piracy leak which led to a slightly softer box-office.
