Sylvester Stallone is the latest action star to sign on for “The Tomb” at Summit Entertainment and Emmett/Furla Films says Variety.
The story follows Ray Breslin, the world’s foremost authority on prison structural security. His skills are put to the test when he is framed and put in a high-security prison of his own design and must find the person who put him there.
Both Bruce Willis and then Arnold Schwarzenegger were under consideration for the lead role until both moved on, while Antoine Fuqua was once attached to direct.
As a result the project has been stuck in development until Sly jumped on to star. The producers will now look for a director to replace Fuqua.
Miles Chapman wrote the action screenplay with Jason Keller doing a rewrite. Mark Canton, Robbie Brenner, Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce.
