Producers Chris Hanley (“American Psycho”) and Fernando Sulichin (“Snowden”) are set to produce a new digital series based on Harmony Korine’s cult 2012 film “Spring Breakers”.
Blackpills, a soon-to-launch digital platform, will be home to the series which is one of an initial slate of four scripted series between them. Hanley’s Muse Productions has secured digital rights to the project and will produce the series with casting now underway.
Korine is not involved in any capacity in the new feature. His film starred James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as college students who end up committing robberies for a drug dealer.
Hanely and Sulichin previously worked together on Oliver Stone’s Showtime docuseries “The Untold History of the United States”.
