Spotnitz Drops Out Of Amazon’s “Castle”

Showrunner Frank Spotnitz has exited Amazon’s “The Man In The High Castle” TV series right in the midst of production on the show’s second season.

No new showrunner is being brought on board to replace him with the current production team – including executive producers Ridley Scott, David Zucker, and Isa Dick Hackett – taking over his responsibilities, but the Vancouver-shot series will take an immediate hiatus of up to a fortnight.

Based on Philip K Dick’s 1962 alternative history novel, the series premiered in November with ten episodes and was both well reviewed and a streaming record breaker, prompting a renewal for a second season of ten episodes.

Spotnitz remains at work on the Renaissance set “Medici: Masters of Florence” starring Dustin Hoffman and Richard Madden.
