Spike Turns “Mars” Trilogy Into A TV Series

Spike TV and “Game of Thrones” co-executive producer Vince Gerardis are teaming to develop a TV drama series based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s trilogy of “Mars” novels.

The series of award-winning science fiction novels – “Red Mars,” “Green Mars,” “Blue Mars” – chronicles the nearly two century long settlement and terraforming of the planet Mars through the personal viewpoints of a wide variety of characters.

Robinson will consult on the series which will focus on the question at the center of the novels – “what is it to be human when we are no longer of Earth?”

The project follows the network’s upcoming “Tut” which marks its first scripted series in seven years.
