Monday’s launch of the full trailer for “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” the first post-Endgame film and the last MCU adventure we’ll get for nearly a year, proved a big hit.
The preview managed to become the biggest digital launch in the history of Sony Pictures Entertainment, racking up 135.2 million views in 24 hours, a few million ahead of the 130 million views for the teaser trailer back in January and the 116 million views for the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” trailer in 2017.
Social conversation volume was also the highest in the studio’s history, topping 1.5M posts in the first 24 hours. The numbers come in as the studio has released the first official clip from the film, one which goes more into the biggest surprise reveal of the new trailer – Marvel embracing the multiverse theory.
The clip confirms the MCU as we know it is Earth Dimension 616 while Jake Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck/Mysterio hails from Earth 833. Is his character on the level though? It’s not clear but we’ll find out when the film hits cinemas on July 2nd.
