“Spider-Man” Scribes Return For New Sequel

Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who worked on this Summer’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” are in final negotiations to return for the upcoming sequel which Jon Watts will once again direct.

The pair were two of six writers with credits on the first film, but are the first ones for the follow-up to the movie which grossed $737 million worldwide along with the second best reviews of the “Spider-Man” franchise.

Their other work includes “The Lego Batman Movie” and the upcoming “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp”. Tom Holland is set to return as the web-crawling hero in the film which opens July 5th 2019.
