With the first trailer for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” such a success on Thursday night and well into yesterday, it comes as little surprise that Sony Pictures is already planning a sequel to the Marvel-approved new Spidey entry.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming 2” has been announced for a Friday July 5th 2019 release. That announcement pushes a fourth “Bad Boys” film which was set for that date. However don’t expect that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence action-comedy to be delayed, rather it has been moved up and will now open late May 2019.
The scheduling is fairly tenuous considering “Spider-Man: Homecoming” doesn’t open until July next year and the Joe Carnahan-directed third “Bad Boys” titled “Bad Boys For Life” is currently slated for a January 12th 2018 release.
A separate report by Exhibitor Relations indicates the Amy Schumer-led “Barbie” movie will now open in theaters on June 29th 2018.
