With the nearly year long production on both “Avengers: Infinity War” and a fourth “Avengers” film about to kick off in Atlanta, it seems some of the MCU characters rumored to appear in the films are now being locked in.
First up, Tom Holland spoke with Vogue Italia. and confirmed his involvement as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in ‘Infinity War’ – a third appearance for him as the character following on from last year’s “Captain America: Civil War” and this year’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.
Zoe Saldana’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” character of Gamora, daughter of ‘Infinity War’ villain Thanos, is also confirmed to be onboard. Speaking with MTV News at the Golden Globes, she confirmed she’s in the project and said: “I don’t know when they’re gonna let me read it. I mean, I’m not looking forward to the five hours of green make-up, but every time I finally arrive on set I feel so happy and lucky to be there.”
Chris Hemsworth, who was already a sure bet to be involved, also confirmed on the weekend he’s not read the script yet either: “[It’s] a little nerve-racking a couple weeks out, isn’t it? But this is the way Marvel does it.”
Onto the less confirmed talk, and The Daily Record indicates that shooting will take place on ‘Infinity War’ next month in the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. The report lists various names including one unexpected one – Liv Tyler.
Tyler hasn’t appeared in the MCU in nearly ten years, playing the role of Betty Ross in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk”. As last year’s ‘Civil War’ brought back her father, William Hurt’s General Ross, the return of Tyler isn’t that far-fetched – but her appearance has not yet been confirmed.
Production on “Avengers: Infinity War” and the subsequent film will run throughout much of the year. At the same time, My Entertainment World reports that production on the solo hero sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is reportedly set to begin in June – also in Atlanta.
