Spartacus Gets Another Movie

We’ve had Stanley Kubrick’s famous 1960 epic film. We have the blood and sex-fuelled Starz cable series which has a new season currently in production.

Now, producer Graham King and his GK Films are developing a new feature about Spartacus, the rebel leader who took on the Roman Empire reports Variety.

“300” writer Michael B. Gordon came up with the script pitch which is described as a more historically accurate take than the previous adaptations.

In this version Spartacus is a revolutionary who leads a band of 30,000 gladiators and 40,000 freed slaves in revolt against the Roman war machine between 73 and 71 BC, a rebellion defeated by commander Marcus Licinius Crassus.
