Sparkler Receives Executive Orders

Sparkler Entertainment (“National Treasure”) has acquired feature rights to the “Manchurian Candidate”-style series of political action thriller novels by TV producer Gary Grossman says Variety.

The story follows Defense Intelligence Agency man Scott Roarke who has suspicions about Teddy Lodge, a Democratic congressman who’s wife was mistakenly assassinated and capitalised on that to become the U.S. President. The secret lies with the Libyan assassin and the organisation behind him.

The plan is to turn the books, including “Executive Actions,” “Executive Treason” and an upcoming third novel, into a potential franchise.
