“Space Between Us” Delayed Until February

Less than one month out from its intended release, STX Entertainment has delayed its young adult-skewing sci-fi romance tale “The Space Between Us” by almost two months.

Originally slated for December 16th, the film will now open February 3rd, taking the effort out of the competitive holiday movie season and into the less crowded February period.

The story follows a young man named Gardner Elliot (Asa Butterfield) who was born on a Mars colony mission, searches for clues about his father.

He soon begins an online friendship with a street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa (Britt Robertson). When he finally gets to Earth, scientists discover that Gardner’s organs can’t withstand Earth’s atmosphere.

Eager to find his father, Gardner escapes the team of scientists and joins with Tulsa on a race against time to unravel the mysteries of how he came to be.

Gary Oldman, Carla Gugino, BD Wong and Janet Montgomery star in the Peter Chelsom-helmed project.
