“West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin has landed a three-picture deal with DreamWorks Pictures reports the trades.
Sorkin will write three screenplays for DreamWorks, the first being “The Trial of the Chicago 7” which could be a potential Spielberg directing vehicle.
“Chicago 7” will focus on the trials of protesters at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago, where the clashes between demonstrators and police became a defining event of that decade.
Sorkin’s two other projects were not revealed. Sorkin recently adapted the screenplay for the Mike Nichols film “Charlie Wilson’s War,” which is scheduled for release in December.
