Sony Skips CinemaCon 2019, Fox Might Too

Sony Pictures is opting to sit out this year’s four-day CinemaCon at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in early April as a rep for the studio has confirmed that the company has decided against making a presentation.

In addition, 20th Century Fox hasn’t decided if it will attend the annual gathering of cinema exhibitors either, potentially folding its presentation into that of its new owner Disney. All six major studios attended last year’s convention, along with other minors like STX, Lionsgate, Amazon and Focus.

Sony didn’t say why it’s opting out but it’s not for lack of material as they have “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” “Men in Black International” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” all on the way this Summer.
