With a month to go before the release of “Angels and Demons”, the second film adaptation of “The Da Vinci Code” author Dan Brown’s work, Sony Pictures is moving forward with the third reports Variety.
Dan Brown has announced that “The Lost Symbol,” his third book featuring the Robert Langdon character played by Tom Hanks in the films, will hit bookstores on September 15th with a massive five million copy initial printing.
As a result, Sony is quickly moving forward with its plan to adapt the property and is quite certain to woo director Ron Howard and star Tom Hanks into returning.
Details of the story remain unknown but it takes place during a twelve-hour period. Brown has completed the manuscript.
Brown also penned two other non-Langdon works, cryptography thriller “Digital Fortress” and the Arctic-set “Deception Point”.
