Sony Pictures is reportedly developing “Madame Web,” another film for its own Marvel Universe and hailing from “Morbius” screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Web first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” comic back in in 1980 from writer Denny O’Neil, she’s a blind and precognitive character. The title and powers have since passed down to others in the pages of Marvel Comics.
The character is also tied to ‘The Great Web’, a multiverse construct that ties all ‘Spider’ characters together across the multiverse and gives them their powers.
The project joins the “Morbius” and “Venom” sequels currently in the works for next year, and word today has also come that “X-Men” franchise producer Hutch Parker has joined the creative team of the Andy Serkis-directed “Venom 2”.
Others in development including “Silk,” “Nightwatch,” and projects about Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Kraven.
