Sony Pictures has moved up its World War II tank movie “Fury” by a full month – from November 14th to October 17th.
David Ayer’s tale stars Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeuof as part of a tank unit rolling through Germany in the waning months of the Second World War. It will now open against “The Book of Life,” “Nightcrawler,” “The Best of Me” and “Birdman”.
The move allows the film to have a longer awards campaign run, opening in a month that has seen film releases like “Gravity,” “12 Years a Slave” and “Argo” dominate award season in recent years.
