Sony Drops Its Steve Jobs Biopic

In surprising news, Sony Pictures has reportedly put its planned Steve Jobs biopic into turnaround.

Universal Pictures is said to be actively hunting the Aaron Sorkin-penned project about the Apple founder that has been adapted from the Walter Isaacson biography. If Universal does pick it up, the plan is to green light it right away so the project won’t lose any momentum.

Despite the potential studio change, Danny Boyle remains attached as director and Scott Rudin, Christian Colson, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady remain onboard as producers for now.

Michael Fassbender is still reportedly being courted for the role of Jobs following Christian Bale turning down the role.
