At last, Heath Ledger’s final work is getting released in North America.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group is in advanced talks to pick up “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” for theatrical release likely via Sony Pictures Classics later this year says Variety.
The film was screened for several buyers before and during the Cannes Film Festival back in May but no deal had emerged despite generally positive notices from critics. The deal with Sony has long been in the works but could be made official this week.
A UK trailer for the film emerged over the weekend which has stirred up a lot of interest in the production again. The film will be revealed via various distributors between October and December this year in international markets.
