Son Does Mailer’s Naked Tale

John Mailer, son of the just deceased acclaimed author Norman Mailer, has secured the film rights to his father’s most famous tome – “The Naked and the Dead” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Mailer’s first novel, 1948’s ‘Naked’ is based on his experiences in the South Pacific during World War II.

The story deals with a single reconnaissance platoon of riflemen and the psychological conflicts that arise between them.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a film version of the book back in 1958.
