Jill Soloway, the creator of Amazon’s “Transparent” series and director of 2013’s “Afternoon Delight,” will write and direct the new adaptation of the sword-wielding heroine comic “Red Sonja” for Millennium Films.
Soloway replaces Bryan Singer, whose status on the film was called into question in the wake of accusations of sexual assault and misconduct against him. Singer has repeatedly denied the allegations
In February, Millennium confirmed that shooting on the project had been delayed – not unusual for the film which has been in the works for more than a decade and had, at one time, Robert Rodriguez attached to direct.
The original plan was to shoot this year in Bulgaria, no new date or location has yet been set.
