Two acclaimed indie filmmakers have just setup their next projects.
First up, “Transparent” creator Jill Soloway will co-write and direct Amazon Studios’ original coming-of-age feature “Ten Aker Wood”. Sarah Gubbins will co-write the film with Soloway, and Andrea Sperling and Robin Ruzan will produce.
The partly autobiographical story centers on a woman in a failing marriage who leaves Los Angeles to live on a pot farm in Northern California. There she falls in love with a biker and embraces an outlaw lifestyle.
Meanwhile “Frances Ha” director Noah Baumbach has reportedly secured Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson, and Dustin Hoffman for his latest film “Yen Din Ka Kissa” which has already begun filming.
The story follows an estranged New York family coming together in preparation of artist & patriarch Harold’s career retrospective. Thompson will reportedly play a “dreadful, passive-aggressive alcoholic” in the film.
No word on release dates yet for either film.
