“Solo” Co-Scribe Pens Delayed “Indiana Jones 5”

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” co-writer Jonathan Kasdan is reportedly set to take over scripting duties on the fifth “Indiana Jones” film, stepping in for Spielberg regular David Koepp.

Kasdan’s father Lawrence Kasdan penned the screenplay for the original Raiders of the Lost Ark” and did an uncredited script polish on the fourth film “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”.

As a result of this hiring though, the film’s production has been delayed indefinitely until the script is in the kind of shape that everyone involved will sign off on it. The movie was targeting a 2019 start of production for a July 2020 release, but that’s no longer the case.
